Weekend Recap: Friends & Swimming

It's almost time for another weekend!  I'm beat so I'm going to try and make this snappy!

We started our weekend with dinner at our friends' house.  You know Ben is happy when he gets to go to Maddie's house.  (And when he gets to pick out his own accessories.)  He even brought her a straw--so sweet!

I can't get enough of these two together!

It was also so nice to see my momma-to-be friend, Jen!  I can't wait to meet her little man!  Ben is also excited that he will be a little less outnumbered come October.  ;)  We stayed out waaaay past Ben's bedtime, but the weather and company were just perfect; it was hard to leave!

Andy left to go camping on Saturday morning, so it was just Ben and me for the day/night.  My super, awesome, amazing mom came over nice and early to help us CLEAN!  She wasted no time getting right to work.  She even cleaned our second floor while Ben and I went to the park to meet up with a friend from high school who was in town.  She made multiple trips to Good Will and to the dump and spent HOURS cleaning.  Who does that?!  My mom does!  She is the BEST.

So while my mom was working hard, Ben and I were playing hard.  It was great catching up and Ben, of course, was in heaven playing with his friends who he only sees a few times a year!

I did help my mom a bit after the park, but you can only be so productive with my cute little "helper" named Ben.  We gave it our best shot, but then ultimately decided that going to the pool was a better option.  :)  I love when Ben gets excited about something because he opens his eyes extra wide with a huge grin on his face.  No sooner did I ask if he wanted to go swimming did he look at me with his big brown eyes and say, "POOL! Suit! Towel! Hat! Sun!" as he ran around to gather his things.  He waited so patiently while I got everything else together.  Love him.  I also love that the water temperature was 90 degrees, which is why I was actually in the pool.

Nana and Auntie Anna met us there, which provided Ben with even more entertainment.  He had a blast taking out every toy and then watching Auntie Anna jump off the diving board over and over and over again.  They even braved the slide.

On Sunday morning, Ben and I went to church nice and early, and by the time we were done, Andy was already home.  Woohoo!  We had fun on our own, but it is so much better when daddy is home!  "Missing.  Daddy.  Home."  In other words, Ben missed daddy and wanted him to come home.  If I get Ben first in the morning, Ben always wants to go "find" daddy who is hiding under the covers in our bed.  It was so sad on Sunday morning when he though daddy was hiding and it was just a pillow.  I don't think Ben quite gets what it means to camp, but Andy has big plans to go camping (in the backyard) with Ben.

I went to a baby shower on Sunday afternoon, so Ben and daddy were able to get reacquainted after their long 24 hours apart.  :)  We went back to the pool on Sunday afternoon so that Daddy could do all the tricks that Auntie Anna did the day before.  And last, but not least, Ben ended the pool trip with a popsicle.  (Yes, his eyes got big about that one!)

Alas, it is almost time for more fun with my boys!  One more day of work and then it's time for 4th of July fun!  I LOVE the 4th!
